Opportunities for Service

Junior Christian Service takes place one day a week during their regularly scheduled religion class time from approximately mid-September through mid-May. Extra opportunities the kids have their junior year year include Pre-School Pals, Delphos Community Christmas Project deliveries, volunteers for the Mini-Relay-For-Life, as well as assisting at Vancrest nursing Home and Assisted Living with their trick-or-treat, Thanksgiving meal, Van Wert County Fair buddies, and shopping trips to Wal-Mart.

Service activities open to all students include the Soup Kitchen, Habitat for Humanity, Abortion Clinic prayer vigils, collections for St. Vincent de Paul Society and the Thrift Shop. The Mission Society also offers the 4-day Appalachian trip to McKee, Kentucky, serving the poorest residents of that state.  There are numerous organizations in school (including Mission Society) who sponsor and serve meals for the Community Unity supper at Trinity United Methodist Church on Thursday evenings.
