Preschool Balloon Launch

On a recent beautiful Spring day, DSJ preschoolers had a balloon launch, sending their balloons skyword, watching them take off. Hoping to find some new penpals out of the project, each balloon had a note attached. If you find one, send it back - and let the students know just how far the balloons went.

St. Jude Math-a-Thon Top Collectors

For more than 30 years, Math-A-Thon has been a program to raise funds through grade school students competing supplemental math curriculum. The funds benefit St. Jude, where doctors and scientists work to eradicate childhood cancer and other catastrophic childhood diseases. So the program is about kids helping other kids. This year, St. John's top three fund raisers were Kailyn Diestberger  ($741.00), Lillyan Vonderwell   ($440.00) and Elle Gable ($170.00). The Total raised by the school was $7875.38. In the picture with the three students is Mrs. Melissa Meyers, coordinator of the Math-a-thon at St. John's.
