Last week all 55 fifth graders graduated from the DARE program. They walked to the bowling alley, and went to Dairy Hut, and then back to school for graduation certificates and winners of the DARE essay contest. The winners of the essay contest are Ella Wilson, Collin Feathers, Abby Kerner and Joshua Unland. Overall winner is Joshua Unland. He gets to go to lunch with Deputy Mike and all the other DARE essay winners from around the area. Drug Abuse Resistance Education is a substance abuse prevention education program that seeks to prevent use of controlled drugs, membership in gangs, and violent behavior.
