DSJ--Regarding COVID-19
Dear Blue Jay Families:

We cannot thank you enough for your patience and understanding as we continue to wait for more guidance from the Governor’s Office, the Ohio Department of Education, and the Diocese.  Please plan to check your email as well as social media for the most up-to-date information as it relates to instruction, operations of the building/offices, and all other school matters.

Over the course of this three-week school closing, students will be receiving virtual lessons from their teachers to complete, which will align with what they are currently or would be doing in the classroom.  Teachers will be available to answer questions and help students through a virtual means from 8:00 to 3:00 each day, over the course of this closure.  We know this is not ideal, but we pray it continues to allow our students to gain valuable educational experience and growth.  Assignments will be posted daily on ProgressBook. Teachers will also have office hours on Mondays and Thursdays during the closure from 8:00 to 3:00 to help answer questions as they may arise.

In regards to Report Cards, we will still end the Third Quarter on the 17th and we then will mail Report Cards home on the 24th.

In addition to the announcement about closing the school, we are cancelling, effective immediately, all events beginning, Friday, March 13, 2020, through Friday, April 3, 2020.  All athletics are being suspended effective Friday, March 13, 2020, this includes all practices and contests.  Further information will follow as we continue to better understand the situation.

We know that this is new territory for all of us and a very challenging and stressful time.  Your children are safe at school.  This is a proactive and preventative step the Governor is taking to slow the spread of illness in our communities.  We care about your children, your family, and your child’s education, and will continue to work hard to provide a safe, healthy learning environment for all our students.  This is a time where we are asking our students, staff, families, and community to be resilient.  We will weather this situation and we will come away, our staff, students and Blue Jay Family, better because of it.

We are grateful for your patience and support as we work through this complex and rapidly changing issue.
