Meet DSJ Nurse, Jean Gemmer

Jean Gemmer has worked in the medical field for 40 years and came to Delphos St. John’s in 2012. She graduated from Ottoville High School in 1974. She graduated the Parkview Methodist School of Nursing and the Indiana Wesleyan University. She has worked in Emergency Nursing, Office Nursing, Supervision, Med/Surg, taught at College Level. She received the Outstanding Professional from Indiana Wesleyan University.

Jean is a widow and was married for 35 years to Tom and has 1 child. She enjoys reading, sewing and sports. She likes read and spend time with friends and during the summer she’s planning to rest, catch up at home and sleep. She loves her profession and enjoys the students. When asked why she felt a Catholic education was important to her, she replied “As a professional, I want to be able to keep God in my job and my life, I like to be able to share my faith with the students. As a parent, I want my daughter to have the foundation of our faith as she faces her adult life. Students need the best foundation they can have to move forward in life.”
