Delphos St John

Campus Ministry

At Delphos St. John the Evangelist Catholic School, we are proud of our Catholic tradition.  While many schools do an effective job at education, we believe that our school has a different philosophy of education.  First, we believe that education is rooted in Christ and a knowledge of the faith provides a broader vision for our students.  It gives them a Catholic imagination where the world is open to new possibilities.  Second, we believe that by our baptism we are called to service the world.  We are proud that many of our students are actively involved in all areas of service in our parish and community.  It allows them to accept positions of leadership in the future.

The Catholic faith is the reason for the existence of our school.  The spiritual formation of our students is of the utmost importance in our curriculum as an institution.  We offer several amenities to develop and build the students' knowledge and understanding of the Catholic faith and teachings:
  • Daily Religion Classes
  • Weekly Mass
  • Students participate in leading Mass
  • Practicing the Seven Step Prayer Process developed by Dynamic Catholic
  • Regular participation in Eucharistic Adoration
  • Seasonal prayer (May Crowning, Advent, Lent, etc.)
  • Penance services
  • Daily morning prayer and the conclusion of each school day
  • Regular lunchtime prayer before and after meals
  • Sacramental preparation is provided at age appropriate levels (i.e. 1st Communion and Reconciliation in 2nd grade)
  • Clubs and Organizations to promote Catholic faith in our school
  • Service-based learning
