Why a brand?
When you hear "brand," you may think about logos or an identity system. A brand of an organization is much more - it's an entire structure of images, primary messaging, and way of thinking for any organization. A brand is about reputation, helping define an organization's entire experience.
Our brand helps tell the story of who we are, what we stand for, and what makes us different. It helps you recognize and remember us. It helps build a sense of trust, with a consistent message. It helps build a level of confidence with our community that we produce products from our brand that align with our mission and provide the services necessary to best meet the needs of our students and families. It builds an emotional connection with our students that they will carry with them for years to come as alumni. Delphos St. John's is not just a school, we are a family - and our brand aligns with our family values. It creates a deeper, more meaningful connection that creates loyalty, advocacy, and higher engagement to help us provide an experience of excellence from one generation to another.
Do we give our students a unique experience? Yes, our publications reflect that. Do we have an outstanding faculty who represent our mission? Yes, our website reflects that. Do we have a school that is known for our strong faith, traditions, and strife for excellence? Yes, and everything we say and do through our brand reflects that.
Why do we have brand standards?
St. John the Evangelist Catholic School has continued to update our logos over time. Now our identity brand standards ensure a consistent "look" and style for reference. Consistency among all segments of our school - preschool-12 - ensures and solidifies name recognition, fundamental elements of who we are, and upholds the image perception of our school. We strive to continually inform and engage our audiences about the advantages of a Delphos St. John's education through these consistent standards.
Whether online or in-house, these standards create a unified and seamless experience for our Blue Jay family. Whether it’s our website, social media presence, or advertising, our standards keeps us consistent and reinforce our message to strengthen our overall impact.
Our standards benefit our internal team. When our employees understand and embrace our brand values, we stay more engaged and aligned with our school mission and vision. A strong internal brand culture helps create a sense of pride and ownership among faculty and staff, carrying that over to our students and community.
The DSJ Brand
St. John the Evangelist Catholic School Brand Standards establish official policy and standards for the design and text of our school in publications, stationary, signage, and other applications, including the Web. It is important that DSJ projects an image of excellence and cohesiveness to all of its many audiences.
The logos and school names have registered trademark protection and any use of the logos or official university names, other than those prescribed within the DSJ Brand Standards Guide is prohibited, regardless of funding sources. Alterations to the specifications outlined in the guide are prohibited without prior consent from the Delphos St. John's Advancement Office and School Administration.
