Preschool Director/Teacher

Delphos St. John’s Preschool is seeking a passionate/qualified Preschool Director/Teacher to lead our outstanding Preschool into the foreseeable future. Applicants should be excited to lead the ongoing development and implementation of a developmentally appropriate preschool program for young children, approved on an annual basis by the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce standards. We invite prospective candidates who welcome the challenge of continuing our strong tradition of faith and academic excellence in our early childhood program to come join our Blue Jay family.

Responsibilities Include:
Plan and implement activities to meet the physical, emotional, intellectual and social needs of the
children in the program.
Provide adequate material and activities
Ensure the equipment and entire classroom are clean, well maintained and safe at all times.
Develop activities that introduce math, literacy, religion and science concepts.
Develop daily lesson plans
• Maintain up to date and approved emergency procedures
• Provide various experiences and activities for children including songs, games and storytelling
Build children’s self esteem
Establish routine and provide positive guidance
Provide a safe and secure environment for the children to feel comfortable

Qualifications/Requirements:
Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree (preferably in Early Childhood Education)
Maintain 10 educational in service hours per school year. (30/year if degree is outside early childhood)
Current in First Aid/CPR, Communicable Disease and Child Abuse classes
Current in “Protecting God’s Children” seminar on Virtus and FBI / BCI fingerprinting
• Demonstrates high personal integrity and positive leadership qualities
A practicing Catholic, willing to pursue ongoing personal faith development.
Ability to effectively communicate with parents, teachers, superiors, children and all parish staff.

Salary:
Salary of the Director is established by the Pastor, based on experience and educational degree.

Substitute Teaching Positions

The Ohio Department of Education has released an update to the requirements for a substitute teaching license.  ODE has issued a one-time non-renewable one-year temporary non-bachelor's substitute teaching license for the 2022-2023 school year.
